Surya Ganguli named Schmidt Science Polymath

Surya Ganguli, associate professor of applied physics and an associate director of the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI, has been named to the 2023 cohort of the Schmidt Science Polymaths Program. With this award, Ganguli will pursue an interdisciplinary research program to understand how nonlinear elements within neural networks, both biological and artificial, interact to yield remarkable emergent computational capabilities.
